The Ghost Wolves (an elite military unit including Jacket, and Beard as lieutenant) then attack a Russian army camp. It is shown here that the US is in a war with Russia. March 17th, 1985 14:42 Honolulu, Hawaii - Act 3, Scene 9, "Ambush" - Beard and Jacket have their photo taken by Evan Wright (the writer), who is a war correspondent at this point.
